Elderberry
100% Organic Elderberries
The popular term for Elder comes from the Anglo-Saxon word "aeld", which means "to kindle" or "fire". It got its name because hollowed out elder stems were used to blow the kindling from a safe distance. It has often been referred to as "Queen of the Woods" or the "Elder Mother".
The fragrant flower of the Elder tree (Sambucus nigra) has been used as a favorite amongst herbalists as a wonderful aid for those dealing with symptoms of colds, flus, and fevers. Topically it is used for calm irritated skin. Both the flowers that bloom in warmer months and the berries in colder season have many medicinal benefits and properties. Elderflower also has a gently relaxant effect that can be applied for sleep issues; useful for both adults and children alike.
