Herbalism Training for Black Birth Workers & Doulas

Are you a birth worker or doula that hears the call of nature? Then you've aligned with us for a reason! Knowing how to treat ourselves and those we love and service with natural herbal medicine is not easy and we're here to help walk you into the wilderness to recall your ancient knowledge base. We will hold space for you to venture deep within your own unique nature, culivate your healing practice, and learn how to properly and effecttively work plant allies to create herbal remedies that are safe for the mother and the baby.

Our Herbalist, is an experienced Medicine Woman and traditional Healer. She will offer you guidance about indigenous remedies from our ancestors, educate you about the powerful healing wisdom of plant medicine, and help you identify them, explore with them one-on-one through medicine making and show you how to implement them and lean on them for those more common issues in pregnancy. 

Session topics include: 

• First and Second Trimester we will learn about herbs to avoid in pregnancy and herbs which are safe in pregnancy.
• Third Trimester we will learn about herbs to address those more commonly seen issues during pregnancy (nausea, heartburn, etc)  
• Labor & Delivery we will explore the ways our ancestors used herbs to induce labor, make the unterus contract to heal, how to ease the birthing process with herbs to stop bleeding and also proivde womb care support.
• Post-partum and Early Childhood we will learn effective herbal remedies that help with "Spiritual Bonding" and post-partum emotions, soul replenishing flower essence  & useful supplements remedies for birth-related injuries (perineal tears and  C-section) herbal support for breastfeeding and Infant care.

This course will help provide you offer herbal remedies to the women, babies, and families that you support.

This is a 3-Day Workshop. Each session will be 4 hours and will include lectures, Q&A's, Quizzes, Medicine making instructions a sacred circle, and more. During the workshop, we will also visit the medicinal herb garden, go on a nature walk, learn how to identify and forage native plants to make at home remedies for ongoing care that will nurture, support, and help foster a loving transistion into motherhood and early childhood development.
