About the Event
Come see the plant medicine and food garden we’ve created that’s centered around people of color.
This fall, we are focusing on Community Herbalism in fellowship with allies. We welcome our local herb family community, and allies of justice to come learn from an indigenous lens how to grow, pay homage, and rekindle a relationship to the ancient world of plant medicine.
Holy Basil is an ancient medicinal plant ally that has been with us for centuries. Native to India, this plant friend is an adaptogen that works wonder for our nervous system and is also known as "the sacred one" in eastern cultures.
Here’s an opportunity to come out and explore in nature, get to know the essence of holy basil and rekindle your connection to this ancient healing plant mostly used in Ayurvedic medicine.
We’ll be touring the Apothecary Garden, harvesting, and learning the rich history of this eastern native plant. You will learn how to identify, how to harvest, how to make tea, and how to properly save the seeds of “Tulsi” Holy Basil.
All ages are welcome and we encourage children and students.
See you at the Garden!
